Clothing Drive for Battered Women

Ms. Sorvino, who is both a United Nations Goodwill ambassador and an ambassador for Amnesty International’s ‘Stop Violence Against Women’ program, spent part of this week in New York asking working women to donate suits to women who are trying to escape domestic abuse – part of a campaign being called ‘Tell A Gal P.A.L.’

The suit-collecting drive, sponsored by the Allstate Foundation, runs through October 9 and asks women to donate ‘nearly new’ business suits and professional attire by dropping them off at Allstate offices and locations around the country, listed at Click to Empower. The clothes will be given to local domestic violence programs and Dress For Success affiliates, who will distribute to them to abuse victims who are interviewing for jobs.
