The Three Tomatoes.com and In the Trenches Productions.Com have launched an internet radio show "Tomatoes in the Trenches" on BlogTalkRadio.

The show's co-hosts from the East Coast and the West Cost discuss a variety of fun and serious topics that appeal to smart women over 40. Launched over the summer, topics have ranged from fashion for women over 40, movies featuring women over 40, travel, dream jobs, the Broadway Theater, and "Tomato Bites" where the co-hosts talk about hot topics in the news. Past guests have included food critic Gael Greene, style experts "The Glam Gals", women's travel expert Phyllis Stoller, and Broadway actress Marcia Rodd.

Tomatoes in the Trenches broadcasts live every Wednesday at 1PM. Shows are archived and available for listening 24x7.

From Penpals to Facebook

Longtime pen pals Tracey Sharpe and JoAnne Snyder, who began communicating through old-fashioned snail mail 29 years ago, met for the first time on the Strip last weekend.

Sharpe, then 16 and growing up in New Zealand, and Snyder, 14, a California girl, began their correspondence after finding a pen-pal service in the back of magazines.

Paired by chance, they quickly became the best of friends, each willing to expose secrets to the other they wouldn't tell their friends back home.

After nearly 20 years of steady letter-writing and rare international phone calls, they fell out of touch for 10 years after Snyder moved to Chandler, Ariz., in 1999.

After learning that another friend had just reunited with a pen pal through Facebook, Sharpe, now 45, signed up -- and there was Snyder, now age 43!

"Virtual" Murder

The following story appeared in my local paper today.

In Japan, a woman has been jailed on suspicion of murdering her virtual husband after he suddenly divorced her.

And from USA Today:
"A 43-year-old player in a virtual game world became so angry about her sudden divorce from her online husband that she logged on with his password and killed his digital persona, police said Thursday.

The woman, who has been jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his ID and password to log onto the popular interactive game Maple Story to carry out the virtual murder in May, a police official in the northern city of Sapporo said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of department policy.

"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry," the official quoted her as telling investigators and admitting the allegations. The woman, a piano teacher, had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said."
